So, the big bad startup conference in Phoenix called DEMO got some spin from the major press. Some of this is so last week! Anyways, Newsweek had something to say.
High-tech start-ups augur the future. Even when they don’t succeed, their innovations are often adopted by others. Last week in Phoenix, at the Demo conference, a launching pad for new tech firms, 69 entrepreneurs pitched their bold business plans to investors and the media.
There was some cool stuff. Ice Cream on demand, Moobella, Ex-Furby people, some people focused on search Kosmix and Photo Evangelists,Riya.

Business Week has an article on Search Engines.
The search behemoths are developing their own niche engines, but their tech prowess may not carry over. Often, relevant information such as a job posting or a real estate listing exists only fleetingly and is barely noticed elsewhere on the Web. Because other sites typically won’t link to, say, a short-lived job opening, it means the technical advantages of major engines won’t be a crucial factor. In addition, startups may get a more receptive greeting in industries such as classified ads, where data are like gold and Google is viewed as a threat. “The information that is important might be pictures, inventory information, freshness of data, or accurate product info,” says Theresia Gouw Ranzetta, managing partner at venture firm Accel Partners and a backer of real estate site Trulia.com. “It doesn’t lend itself to link analysis.”

- Add Tags/ Sites - Post your tags and site to 30DayTags
- Contact - Email Me: JonM@30DayTags.com or AIM Me: JonMyersBalance with a link to the story.
That’s it. Have fun with it.
The site is officially off the ground. Meaning people we don’t know are now showing up and posting sites/ tags! We’ve been testing the site, looking at how people are using it and will incorporate that into a better user experience. Bottom line, better ways to promote sites and fresher results.
On every submission there is a place to rate and give feedback on the sites posted. Combined with the fact that every tag has a 30-day expiration date, we believe over-time this will keep the content on the site more fresh.
We’re actively looking for user feedback and really appreciate it. Please, get in touch to share any thoughts on how we can improve the site.
